The official website for Richard Strauss, www.richardstrauss.org, surveying his life and works through image and sound, has been launched by the Strauss family, following a two year collaboration between musicologists and media experts.
The new website was chosen as one of the top 30 multimedia projects of 2002 and nominated as overall winner in the Europrix Multimedia Art competition. Highlights of the website, in both German and English, include a timeline with soundclips, details on all Strauss's works, images from the family photo archives, and a virtual tour of the composer's villa at Garmisch. There is even a series of entertaining quizzes where you can test your knowledge of the composer.
