Scoring
violin and violoncello I. Duettone II. Duettino
World Premiere

Guggenheim Museum, New York, NY
Fred Sherry, cello / Rolf Schulte, violin /
Composer's Notes
Two Duets for violin and cello are dedicated to my good friend Milton Babbitt, and the individual titles were suggested by his fascinating Duettini. They were written for Rolf Schulte and Fred Sherry, who had asked me many times to write for their instruments. These two duets may be performed separately. If they are performed together they can be played with a break between the two or they can be performed continuously by omitting the last measure of Duettone.
