Ginastera centennial highlights around the world

(January 2016)

Events to celebrate the centennial of Alberto Ginastera in 2016 take us from his Argentinian native city of Buenos Aires to the USA, Europe and beyond.

Leading music venues, orchestras and festivals around the world have announced plans for Ginastera performances in 2016 to celebrate the composer’s centennial. His music will be heard extensively in his native city of Buenos Aires, where he first burst onto the music scene in the late 1930s and ’40s with his ballets Panambí and Estancia, through North America where he composed during his years in political exile, to Europe where he spent his final years, and beyond as far as Australia and the Far East.
