Text heard on Sample:
Guests: It's so pleasant, so pleasant to dine,
to drink, to dance and laugh in this house, eh!
Our Don Jerome is the kind of host that anyone
would feel contented,
so contented in his house, eh!
Louisa/Clara: As two young mistresses of the house, we shall try
to receive you first.

Antonio: Only recently you chased me off not so affectionately
From under your window with a shoe.
Don Jerome: Only recently I chased you off not so affectionately
from under my window with a shoe.

Don Ferdinand: Even though I chased you off,
with all my soul I'm glad
that you are now a son and brother.
Louisa/Clara: Ah, it's so dangerous to sing serenades.
Antonio: I agree, it was late, I made a noise
and you were fast asleep.
Don Jerome: Indeed, it was late, and you made such noise,
while I was dreaming my third dream.
Louisa/Clara: If you go singing,
then do it quietly.

Don Ferdinand/Antonio: You can sleep calmly now
and smile like a sleeping child.
Now we'll see to it
that no more serenades are sung under your windows.
Louisa: Now he's your son. It's time
to forgtet the shouting and the guitars
and swallow a glass of sparkling wine.
Clara: So now it's all over.
Now we'll see to it that no serenades
are sung under our windows.
Don Jerome: So now you are my son.
All is forgotten: the shouting, the noise,
and we shall drink a drop of wine together.

Guests: Tinkle, tinkle, tinkle!
It's so pleasant, so pleasant to dine, to drink, to dance
and laugh in this house, eh!
Our Don Jerome is the kind of host that anyone would feel contented,
so contented in his house, eh!
Louisa/Clara/Antonio/Don Ferdinand: Don Jerome is not such an awesome cavalier,
even though he tried to frighten us to death.
It's all because Don Jerome is much kinder
than he wants to appear!

Guests: Some wine...

Louisa/Clara/Antonio/Don Ferdinand/Don Jerome: Serve the wine...

Guests: Strong wine...

Louisa/Clara/Antonio/Don Ferdinand/Don Jerome: Over here...

Guests: Give us some...

Louisa/Clara/Antonio/Don Ferdinand/Don Jerome: Some wine. Your health!
