The music of Dvorak inspired the traditional fast-slow-fast structure of this three-movement work.  The melodic and harmonic material is derived from four 12-note rows that are used in a tonally centered manner.  This is an excellent work to pair on a concert with the Dvorak Serenade in D minor Op. 44 for Winds.
