"Another cracker in the Tim Garland Jazz Band series. Parts are Grade 3-4 standard in difficulty, but more challenges are posed by the rhythmic irregularities and syncopation than one would expect from a calypso! He liberates some of the more neglected instruments, giving baritone sax and double bass the melody at the opening. There are lots of homophonic sections for brass and woodwind, and some directed opportunities for instruments to improvise short sections of melody on a specific scale/chord. A fun piece that will certainly entertain a school band for a few weeks!"
