Michel van der Aa's new multi-media cello concerto, written for soloist Sol Gabetta, combines live performance and film and is now availabe as a DVD from Disquiet Media. The work was commissioned by the European Concert Halls Organisation, toured in March 2011 and won the prestigious 2013 Grawemeyer Award.
In this highly original 30-minute work the traditional interaction of soloist and ensemble is reflected by a mysterious, mirror reality seen on film.
