Nota del programa

The first movement of a triptych of miniatures for the Boston Symphony and its newly appointed music director James Levine, “Micomicón,” in Don Quixote, is a fantasy realm invented by Sancho Panza; its musical realization is as a long melody, most stirringly conveyed by the strings, which survives assaults and laughter.
