Rolf Rudin studied composition with Hans Ulrich Engelmann and Bertold Hummel, winning numerous prizes for his works * Was awarded a study scholarship from the German Students' Foundation * 1990/91 scholarship from the Bavarian Ministry of Culture for a half-year stay at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris * Apart from his comprehensive work in almost every musical genre, he has written many compositions for symphonic wind orchestra since 1989 * Further works for orchestra or chamber orchestra to appear in the early nineties were Legende op.21 for 20 solo strings and Choreographie op.36 for orchestra
