David Horne is a Scottish-born composer who captured attention in his late-teens with an impressive series of chamber ensemble works * After composition studies in the USA he has returned to live in the UK * Music shows flair for rapid figuration, clarity of expression, and idiomatic instrumentation, within a classical modernist aesthetic * Works commissioned by leading soloists including percussionist Evelyn Glennie, violist Nobuko Imai, and pianist Boris Berezowsky and performed by leading groups including BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Nash Ensemble * Accomplished pianist, made Proms debut in 1990 * Composer in Residence with Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (2000-04)

Concerto for Six Players (1993) for chamber ensemble
Flex (1997) for piano and ensemble
Ignition (2002) for percussion and orchestra
Double Violin Concerto (2003) for two violins and string orchestra
