Osbert Mulliner, engaged to Mabel Petherick, finds his dream of happiness shattered when Mabel's former suitor, Bashford Braddock, appears and threatens Osbert with violence should he pursue his wedding plans. Osbert’s dilemma is solved when two thieves, intent on robbing his apartment, become involved in an argument and knock one another out.
