This is the second of two discs of the complete piano quartets and string trios of Max Reger.

The Piano Quartet in A minor, Op. 133, completed during the first month of World War I, is a deeply expressive and intense work, using the full range of the instruments. Re-modelled from the Flute Serenade, Op. 141a, the graceful and melodic String Trio in D minor is altogether of a sunnier and lighter disposition.
