Val Whitlock & Shirley Court
Val Whitlock is Head of Voice and Choral Singing for Warwickshire County Music Service. She is well known for her ability to enthuse people about singing, and is in demand both regionally and nationally to direct choral workshops, often involving hundreds of young people, as well as leading in-service training for teachers.
Shirley Court was formerly Head of Choirs and Primary Music for Leicestershire and Leicester Arts in Education, and is now working part-time as a choral animateur for Cheshire Education Advisory Service. She is conductor of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Youth Chorus and Director of the Cheshire Youth Choir.
Both Val Whitlock and Shirley Court contributed to the development of the ongoing skills units of the DfES/QCA's Schemes of Work for Music.
