Leonard Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti on DVDAn award-winning film version of Leonard Bernstein's jazzy one act opera Trouble in Tahiti has been released on DVD. The film, a co-production between BBC Worldwide and Opus Arte, won the Vienna TV Award in April 2002 for Best Performance Film, and was screened to great acclaim on BBC2 Television in the UK.
A sparkling musical performance conducted by Paul Daniel is coupled with a witty production by Tom Cairns, using the latest special effects to blend superb genuine Fifties archive with specially shot footage.
The success of the film screenings led to Trouble in Tahiti's release on commercial DVD, which has been attracting further excellent reviews.
