Enrico Chapela: Magnetar

Get Adobe Flash player

Watch composer Enrico Chapela and cellist Johannes Moser discuss Chapela's concerto for electric cello and orchestra, MAGNETAR.

The inspiration behind Enrico Chapela's MAGNETAR, comes from an out-of-this-world destination. A type of neutron star, a magnetar is the most magnetic object yet detected in the universe. MAGNETAR is co-commissioned by organizations on three continents: the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra.
