Michael Nyman is one of the most versatile, popular and successful composers of his generation. His distinctive idiom fuses minimalism with baroque and popular music . He enjoys co-existent careers writing for live performance and for film, and the Michael Nyman Band has toured internationally for more than 25 years.

Movie credits include The Draughtsman’s Contract (Peter Greenaway), The Piano (Jane Campion), Gattaca (Andrew Niccol), Wonderland and The Claim (Michael Winterbottom), and The Libertine (Laurence Dunmore).

Michael Nyman's music is extensively recorded on Virgin, Decca, EMI, Warner Classics, and the composer's own label, Michael Nyman Records.
