""This series is a rich source of songs for teachers and students … the CDs add to overall usefulness of the volumes, especially with native speakers of the various languages of the international traditional songs.""

"I used these books initially for the ABRSM exams, but quickly made them a standard text even for students that don't plan on taking exams. There is an excellent selection of songs across various genres, including some attractive contemporary pieces that can freshen up tired repertoire choices. They are graded nicely, and the CD is an invaluable addition. If I were to quibble, it would be with some of the tempi chosen, and that recordings of accompaniments for singers often don't leave time for a singer to breathe! Nonetheless, the accompaniments are still a very useful aid, as are the pronunciation guides, particularly for students making their first attempts at other languages.
I was so impressed with the series that, when on a panel choosing set pieces for a National competition, I plugged for several of the pieces from this series. My intention was partly to introduce other teachers to these excellent songbooks!"
