As a professional singer, it is little surprise that Stradella's vocal works show all the understanding of vocal technique, emotion and musical nuance, and there are hardly more beautiful examples of these skills than within his rich collection of 'cantatas' and arias for singer/s and small chamber ensemble.

More than 200 of these such works exist, and they undoubtedly (again in a pioneering fashion) helped to shape this genre of short vocal-chamber pieces into the regular fixture it was to become in the later baroque period.

Here is a great collection, conducted by Angelo Ephrikian.
