Dinkins, F: It's About Time Dinkins (Book & CD)

This method sets out to develop a sense of time and rhythm by teaching, amongst other things, actual beat placement and subdivisions. This book will help you understand concepts such as playing behind the beat, in the middle of the beat and on top of the beat. Also included are exercises designed to help you control and better compose drum fills within a given musical framework. The two CD's included with the book feature many recorded demonstrations, each followed by a play along track.
