Missa a cappellafor mixed choir a cappella
Text: Latin (Mass)
Duration: 23'00''
Difficulty: 3/5

Commissioned by the Netherlands Radio Choir, Netherlands Broadcasting Companies TROS, AVRO & NTR, Father Arthur Bridge for Ars Musica Australis, Cheltenham Music Festival and Swedish Radio Choir.
This work was composed in 2011 (the Credo is from 1972). It was first performed on 25 November 2011 at Jacobikerk, Utrecht, by Netherlands Radio Choir, conducted by Celso Antunes.

Jointly commissioned in 2011 by four choirs around the world (Netherlands, Australia, England and Sweden), this large-scale choral work sets the words of all six parts of the ordinary of the Mass (the "Credo" was composed in 1972). The characteristic rich, soothing harmonies,beautifully-shaped,sometimes haunting melodies and variety of texture create an evocative and devotional work.
