A selection of six songs from the famous John Gay opera arranged for a young Piano Trio. Part of Hal Leonard's Beginning Chamber Music series, these arrangements are designed to provide the early experience of playing in a small ensemble for students of an intermediate level, and are complete with a Piano score and separate parts for Violin and Cello.

The Beggar's Opera itself was written in 1728 from a collection of popular fiddle tunes that are as familiar today's as they would have been to the London audiences of the day. These melodies are delightfully simple to grasp and great fun to play, giving you the best start in performing as part of a small group.

Furthermore, a CD of full demonstrations is included, professionally recorded to let you hear how the pieces should sound, and to help you through any awkward or unusual passages. There is even a guide to help you through the rehearsal process, from your very first practices right up to the first performance, offering useful advice to get the best from evergreen Opera favourites.
