This is the piano vocal score of Howard Blake's moving musical for children, based on John Burningham's book 'Granpa'. Commissioned by Channel 4 as a follow up to Blake's 'The Snowman', the musical celebrates the relationship between a grandfather and Emily, his grandaughter. Together they are transported into magical worlds of their imagination, and Grandpa imparts his knowlege and stories to Emily. Gradually though, Granpa grows frailer. The final song 'Make Believe' sees Emily cherishing her memories of him.
