Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen, composer

Danish National Symphony Orchestra / DR
Kontra Quartet

Pelle Gudmundsen-Holmgreen is quite an institution in Danish music. Both his personality and his works enjoy high status in Denmark, and he, if anyone, has been responsible for some of the elements in recent Danish music that notoriously distiguish it from music in the rest of Scandinavia and Germany. He has called himself an outsider in Danish music, but actually he is really a major name, an "established outsider".
