These arrangements of stately themes for brass choir, trombone and baritone are ideal for helping intermediate players understand the role of their instruments. Parts can be swapped between players as necessary and a baritone sax part is also included if no tuba is available.

Instrumentation:

0.0.0.0-1.2.1.Bar & Tuba/Bar Sax

The Arranger writes:
I arranged Handel's Water Music for my students at Boyce Middle School in the Upper St. Clair School District (Pittsburg, Pa). Chamber playing just might be the perfect medium for children to understand the role of their instruments. Playing alone is too barren and playing in a large ensemble can mask individual sounds. Chamber playing provides a wonderful balance that can blend instruments while still recognizing their individuality. However, there is not much chamber music written for middle school students that introduces them to history's master composers. Therefore, I took the basic themes that Handel had written and arranged them for choir. Feel free to swap trombone and baritone parts between players if it would better fit your ensemble. Also, I included a baritone sax part to cover the tuba line if no tuba is available. I hope you and your students enjoy Handel's Water Music.
