This Student's book contains the solo violin parts, along with colourful illustrations, activities and a play-along CD. The Accompaniment book, available separately, includes piano and violin accompaniments for every piece.

"As an adult learner with no experience of a stringed instrument I have found Violin Star 2 and Violin Star 3 a very positive experience. There is a logical progression from one piece to another which means that the finger positions intoduced for the various keys are then consolidated in later pieces. I have really enjoyed the variety of music ranging across folk music from a wide range of countries through to classical music with a smattering of more contemporary styles. My only complaint is that as far as I know there isn't a Violin Star 4 to go on to once I finish the remaining 4 pieces in the book."
