Inspired by the classic 'Just so' story by Rudyard Kipling, How the Leopard got his spots is written in three parts for girls' voices and narrator. it is an imaginative and atmospheric work, depicting the 'High Veldt' of Africa, the shadowy forest and the thrill of the chase. This cantata would lend itself well to the addition of movement, but is equally effective performed as a concert piece.
