These Fanfares should be used as hymn introductions on festal occasions. They may also be sounded as Gospel Fanfares. If used before a hymn, the hymn tune should be given out and sung in the usual way after the Fanfare has been played. They are written in a variety of keys and time signatures and not tied to a particular hymn tune. A Fanfare should be selected to suit the time and key signature of the chosen hymn.
