Herman D. Koppel, composer

Danish National Symphony Orchestra / DR

About
Born in 1908 Herman D. Koppel represented the oldest generation in contemporary Danish music. Because of his Jewish origins, he was a regugee during World War II, and the war years left deep marks on him. This finds expression in the oratorio Moses, which is considered one of the principal works of the post-war period. Since his debut in 1930 he was also admired as a virtuoso pianist.

Reviews
"Highly recommended" (Fanfare)

"A performance of distinction" ***** (BBC Music Magazine)

"No choral music lover should miss this" (Classical Pulse!)

Dacapo´s Moses is an easy recommend for connoissers of serious twentieth-century music.
