This is a player score of the 1973 classic of the early minimalist movement. It is to be performed by any combination of at least three players (originally three woodwinds and three electric organs) and it is advisable, given the layout in the score, that prospective performers should buy a separate copy for each player.

The piece comprises a series of melodic/rhythmic fragments that are repeated an indefinate number of times. The music may be performed with any combination of instruments that have a suitable melodic range.
