Notes from the composer
Kuna Njia was composed for the VIVACE! Valley View Treble Choir to celebrate how a wonderful human spirit comes mostly from yourself, your heart and your soul. My work with African choirs has brought me to many people who even when faced with extreme adversity, have a joyous spirit that is more powerful than we often realise.
Measures 1-25 should be sung with internal reverence; one that honors the human spirit that can quietly conquer any obstacle. At letter A, the feeling should be more collectively celebratory, with fevor and excitement, singing that together our spirit with conquer adversity. Kune njia kwa moyo, tunaweza pamoja - there is a way, from your heart, we can, together
