Knudåge Riisager studied in Paris in the 1920s and became a pioneer of the Neo-Classicist style in Danish music. The orchestral works on this CD are from the 1930s and the beginning of the 104+s, and they show Riisager both as a composer inspired by the Neo-Baroque and as an exponent of a decidedly Danish sound.
