The Moments musicaux are among the best-known and most popular of Schubert's compositions for piano.
Technically not too difficult, the six "musical moments" offer a rich spectrum of moods and timbres, which was unusual for the time in this form. Schubert thus already oscillates between classical and romantic music and creates the new genre of the piano miniature. His new, concise way of expressing feelings attracts and fascinates people.
The publication also includes notes on interpretation by Robert D. Levin in a newly engraved edition containing all the latest research on this music.
The pieces range from ABRSM grade 4 to grade 7 in standard.
In a review in the International Piano Magazine of August 2019, Murray McLachlan stated that this edition was "Authoritative, insightful, practical and strongly recommended."
