Commissioned by the Vancouver Cantata Singers, this is a new setting of the text of a Catalan Christmas Carol. While there are many meter changes, the melody actually lilts along in alternating groups of two and three eighths and the smooth conjuct movement creates the feeling of a folksong. There are moments of surprising harmonic progressions but resolution always follows eventually. For mixed choir (SATB), with piano accompaniment for rehearsal only.
