M051480029 - Song of Woman by Cary Ratcliff, for ssaa voices and piano. Part of the Doreen Rao's Choral Music Experience series. CME in High Voice.

Text is taken from Prelude: Song of Woman by Francesca Guli (1924-2008)

Program Note
Francesca Guli was a native of Rochester, New York of Italian heritage. From 1971-1992 she was a poet-in-residence at Nazareth College there, where she also taught Creative Writing and Dance. This poem begins the longer work "Song of Woman" in her first of seven books of poetry: I Sing of Summer

I'm a fan o Francesca and her passion to speak of essential things in her poetry, to sing of loves and experiences, in the name of Woman in the case of this poem, and to craft it all with wonderfully lyrical verse.
Cary Ratcliff
