The technique of two-note chords, requiring constant and systematic exercises, belongs to more difficult pianistic problems. The studies require technical efficiency in the mastery of thirds and sixths as well as performance freedom in acquiring the variability of mood, the contrasting character of articulation in bringing out the colours.
