Based on a text by Tennessee Reed, the 11 year-old daughter of author Ishmael Reed. Though originally scored for four female voices, Three Heavens and Hells was envisioned as a work for children's chorus. The seven-movement piece may be performed by a children's chorus or an adult chorus of treble voices. Includes detailed notes for the conductor.
