This volume contains the airs of some of the most popular English folk-dances. The tunes are all printed in the keys in which they are published in the pianoforte settings and certain tunes are printed a second time in a different key. These transcriptions have been made for the benefit of players of instruments on which it is difficult or impossible to produce a complete range of semitones.
