Klezmer is the Yiddish word for musician. Nowadays, however, it refers to Jewish traditional music in general. Klezmer music originated from Eastern Europe, where it played an important part especially during the festivities celebrated in the numerous Jewish communities. It clearly reveals the influence the music from the Balkans, the Slavic regions and gypsy music has had on this genre
