'The inspiration for this work was the music of the gipsy guitarist Django Reinhardt. I have not tried to emulate the musical language of Reinhardt, rather, I have tried in each of the five movements to capture aspects of his musical personality. There are small quotations from Reinhardt's most famous composition "Nuages".
The work is dedicated to the Greek guitarist and Lutenist, Stathis Skandalidis, who also provided the fingering.' (Brian Wright)
