This CD presents premiere recordings of four Yehudi Wyner orchestral works. Performed by the work's dedicatees, Robert Levin and the Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by Robert Spano, the piece is a tour-de-force of high spirits and compositional brilliance. Wyner's Cello Concerto: Prologue and Narrative, the longest work on this program, is a much more introspective score. It is performed by the brilliant young German cello virtuoso, Maximilian Hornung and the Odense Symphony Orchestra of Denmark. Lyric Harmony and Epilogue: in memory of Jacob Druckman, as well as the Cello Concerto are all conducted by the composer's wife, Susan Davenny Wyner. Ms. Davenny Wyner's performances all communicate Yehudi Wyner's passionate music with great faithfulness and visionary zeal.
