"This is a tutor that gets on with the task of teaching the basics of piano playing without wasting paper and ink on fripperies.

At the end of it, the pupil:

*has learned a wide range of rhythmic patterns,
*can read the pitches on the treble part of the piano fluently,
*has begun to read the notes on the bass staff,
*has learned at least 7 keys including E major and
*can play several scales.

It encourages the pupil to memorize as much as possible and to pick out well known tunes in a variety of keys.

This tutor is, however, harder work for the teacher and it is helpful if a parent can be present at some of the earlier lessons especially for young children."
