Schubert's F major Wind Octet was never completed, much to the regret of wind ensembles. Musicologist Peter Stamm, having discovered the obvious similarities between it’s thematic material and the C major string quartet D46, has now completed Schubert’s fragment to create a fully-fledged four-movement wind octet and a notable enhancement to the available repertoire.
