No more heroic example of female mentorship can be found than in the experience of immigrant mothers, caught between two worlds and anxious that their daughters benefit from opportunities in the new country without losing touch with the birthright of their ancestral culture. This piece was commissioned to honor the women who were teachers and guides to the present generation. A traditional Sephardic song arranged by Stephen Hatfield for treble voices in two parts (SA), piano and percussion.
