PEDER GRAM
Orchestral Works Vol. 1
South Jutland Symphony Orchestra

Peder Gram, composer
Matthias Aeschbacher, conductor

About
Peder Gram enjoyed a prominent position in his time, not only because of the fine craftsmanship and artistic standard of his musical works, but also because of the many organizational duties in the musical world that made him one of his generation’s most influential Danish musical personalities. This release features some of Peder Gram’s most exciting orchestral works, covering the full spectrum of large-scale expression; from the sparkling and effectful to the highly dramatic and illustrative, festive and powerful.

Reviews
Aeschbacher's presentation is sensitive, the South Jutland Symphony Orchestra full-blooded and expressive.
(Limelight Magazine)

Peder Gram is a composer well worth getting to know... his works are melodically very attractive, convincingly structured, and beautifully scored... The performances are vital and committed, doing the music full justice.
(Classics Today, David Hurwitz)

(02/2007, Klassisk)

There is some lovely writing here.
(Musicweb International)

Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester gør det rigtigt godt. Som titlen antyder, er denne udgivelse vol. 1, så vi glæder os til vol. 2.
