Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, who sadly passed away on 14 March, was one of the most distinguished and wide-reaching composers of our time. He held the position of Master of the Queen’s Music from 2004 to 2014 and was recently awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society Gold Medal, the highest accolade the society can bestow.
