Looking Ahead: Anna Clyne's Pocket Book LXV, which sets Shakespeare’s 65th sonnet to music, receives its world premiere at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC, with Grammy-winning vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth on November 20; the ensemble performs the new piece alongside her first Shakespeare sonnet setting from 2015, Pocket Book VIII.

This season features multiple performances of Within Her Arms for string ensemble by Santa Fe Pro Musica and Thomas O’Connor with violinist Benjamin Beilman (Jan 28-29), and by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Marin Alsop (Mar 2-4). In November, Masquerade is performed by the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra and Oklahoma City Philharmonic, «rewind« is performed by the Edinburgh Contemporary Music Ensemble and James Lowe in Reid Hall, Additionally, Clyne is developing a new opera, Eva, as part of her OPERA America grant.

"[Anna Clyne is] an artist who writes from the heart, who defies categorization, and who reaches across all barriers and boundaries. Her compositions are meant to be played by skilled musicians and can reach different audiences, no matter what their background."
