(December 2008)
In 2003/04, composer Thomas Kessler (who was born in 1937 in Switzerland and now lives in Canada) first collaborated with the rap-poet Saul Williams: ’ said the shotgun to the head. for solo voice, rap chorus and orchestra was premiered in Basle in 2005, and among others had a performance at the 2006 ISCM World New Music Festival in Stuttgart.Kessler’s new composition NGH WHT for voice and string quartet, premiered in 2007 in zurich and also written for Saul Williams, is now available for download on the internet. Williams put this poem from his book "the dead emcee scrolls" into the web in an outstanding musical interpretation with the Arditti String Quartet:

The download (aif-format) includes 27 minutes of:
1. the full composition,
2. Saul William’s solo voice alone,

The fact that these artists not only permitted, but proposed this publication, is exceptional. The sound-files are free to use for any kind of remixes, sampling, arranging or composing and can be published on the website, as long as the artists are credited.
You can buy the complete download (Chapters 1 – 33) in CD-quality for 6 $.
