Bagatelles, similarly to “Badineries” or “Capprici” allow composers to express their sens of humor, of parody or derision.
This genre inspires strongly Jean-François Michel as his 3 Bagatelles for oboe and piano show in this score (as well as his 3 Bagatelles – with totally different musical contents – for clarinet and piano -BIM CL36- or flute and piano -BIM FL43-; and the series will continue for other instruments). These pieces request a good musical and technical understanding between performers with free hand for their imagination.

Jean-François Michel has developed a creativ and versatile repertoire for his numerous and talented students. Nevertheless, the evident quality of these musical works can successfully enrich recital concert programs outside pedagogical institutions
