The Millennial Suite's six movements make imaginative use of popular hymns that are presented in chronological order. With regard to this movement, the first verse of the spiritual is sung in a slightly ornamented fashion by a solo soprano voice. After a brief modulation in the organ, the choir sings the second verse without accompaniment.
