The Russian Piano Method is testament to a highly developed methodology for teaching piano in Russia, which encourages the student in a lively yet purposeful manner and has gained great recognition in international piano pedagogy. The approach of the two-volume standard work, edited by Julia Suslin, is deliberately based on training student’s perception of sound and is aided by focusing on listening practice, alongside the technical aspects of playing piano. In this way, the student acquires knowledge of the most important elements of piano playing in a short period of time. The two-volume method can be mastered in about two to three years. This repertoire book was conceived as a continuation of the Russian Piano Method. It is similar in structure to the second volume of the method with the three parts: Pieces - Sonatinas and Variations - Etudes. In all three parts, the pieces are arranged in progressive order, and their selection corresponds to the 3rd to 6th year of lessons. The repertoire includes compositions from the Baroque era to the present day. The tune book can be purchased with or without CDs; the recordings can also be bought separately.
